Ray Boltz Confesses to be Homosexual

"If this is the way God made me, then this is the way I’m going to live...I really feel closer to God because I no longer hate myself." Those were the words of Ray Boltz in an interview with the Washington Blade about his decision to engage in homosexuality. Boltz, a father of four who was married for 33 years before officially divorcing his wife this year, is well-known for his widely acclaimed songs "Thank You" and "I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb."

There is nothing uplifting, edifying, justifying, sanctifying, etc. about accepting who and what you are. It is our place as men and sinners to try to rise above what we are to be more like our creator. Anyone who celebrates who they were born as, and doesn't try to become more than that is, in my opinion, an animal and not a human being. Only animals are, by nature, completely content with the world as it is, and themselves without question.
Other than that we accept that we are as God made us, and that includes our fallen sexuality, straight or gay.
Well I've just googled Ray Boltz, who I had never heard of before yesterday.
There isn't much about him coming out and certainly nothing to say he is now partnered unless I have missed something. That being the case is he condemned simply for "being"? There is nothing in scripture to suggest you can not be both gay and Christian.
And actually Mike, there is something very uplifting about being honest - however long it took you to manage it. I think honesty is a powerful Christian quality.
Yes. We should lift this man up for leaving his wife and children to fulfill his homosexual lifestyle. It truly is God's work to see this happen. Let's all celebrate our sin together.
