The Ice Cream Meltdown
Friday, November 21, 2008 2 commentsThe extreme animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has recently made an unusual request to the ice cream company Ben and Jerry's. Peta sent a letter calling for Ben and Jerry's to stop using cow milk in their ice cream and switch to human breast milk. Citing health concerns dairy may cause and of course how it will benefit animals, PETA thinks this is the best way to go.
"The fact that human adults consume huge quantities of dairy products made from milk that was meant for a baby cow just doesn't make sense," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "Everyone knows that 'the breast is best,' so Ben & Jerry's could do consumers and cows a big favor by making the switch to breast milk."

This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long time. Not to mention it scoffs in the face of God, who put the animals here for our use.
Protesting labs that treat animals cruelly is one thing, but this is just plain silly.
Not to mention the fact that there is no ready source of breast milk.
